The production of precipitated calcium carbonate is mostly produced by carbonization after lime digestion. The principle is the same, but the process is diverse, and the effects are obviously different. The carbonized water mixture is filtered to form a wet filter material with different water content. The wet filter material must be dried to remove water in order to produce qualified calcium carbonate products.
Drying is usually realized by heating semi-finished materials with hot coal to evaporate water, which is a process of consuming heat energy.
In the cost of calcium carbonate, the energy consumption cost accounts for more than 80% of the total cost, while the energy consumption cost of wet filter material drying accounts for more than 40% of the total cost. Therefore, the drying cost directly affects the product cost. The main way to reduce drying energy consumption and cost is to improve the process control technology level of drying equipment while improving the capacity of drying equipment and stabilize drying conditions.
